Overtime overload

Ahh....just sitting back and relaxing with my stressful schedule this week.....closing the store is harder than i thought. The only thing that makes it easy is having a third person. But since the middle shift person is a high schooler and requested this week off to study for her finals (the one time that i would have liked to see her work)...and oh there's more. The two normal closers are both not closing at all ths week...a long time ago Teresa fell on an orange peel at work and hurt her knee. A few days later she fell on the wet floor again on the same knee. She cant work this week and next week due to her having surgery on it. She's lucky we dont have banannas....but i must say that if i werent so hyperactive I would have been severely injured several times by now...but I somehow tend to catch myself, maybe because I'm "superwonderful??" no....light and fast like a kitty kat. Now that it's rainy here we have more floor mats, but they might still not stop me from severely inuring myself.

Also...Danny, the other supervisor who always closes, his wife had their baby Sunday night, so he just got lucky and got to have a week off. It is alot more peaceful closing with David, there are no other workers that I have to deal with or boss around.

So rewind to about a week or more ago, my starter died. Yes.....explain later. David is tightening the third and final bolt (mine had three for some reason) and something tears the back of his hand. He keeps going. It happens in another spot. This is his left hand. He's left handed. At work he has to technically wear a glove all day on that hand, even if it's bandaged. So he is the cashier for days. Fast forward to last night. We are very hungry and have been busy all night. David is making a sandwich for us to split. He is cutting the bacon into bits, which is a tough thing to cut when crispy, so one needs to use much force.......then he cuts his right hand thumb. And nail. I had to work very hard last night to close the store, he couldnt do very much. He can hardly roll his own cigarettes right now. So a few more days of closing, cant miss out on all that overtime so we'll be closing until Sunday.
