My first ticket

As many of you probably do not know, i thought i'd tell you...
I got a ticket one day for stopping in a "keep clear" zone. 165 dollars please...I plead "not guilty" and wanted to bring it to court. What the hell is a keep clear zone!! I know now, and you are all lucky for not ever having to see one...but on the off chance that ONE DAY you finally see one, KEEP CLEAR. If your tires are two inches on the line, you are in the zone. Stay AWAY!!
Anyways, back to the ticket. March 22, is the date they set, and i could have changed it to see if the cop didnt show up...but i didnt. So March 22, i go into court dressed somewhat formal, and wait.... i had to show up at 1pm, i got there at 12:30 just so i could be sure where to go. There are three lists...one for child support...one for something else, and one that had my name on it. It had my name and the cop's name, and it was near the very bottom.
Hours later...it's a little past four and she still hasnt gotten to me. The courtroom has cleared out, there are only two cops left and three people. I was second to last!!
I go up, the cop tells the story, the weather...blah blah blah..."i see a car in the number one lane turn into the number two lane, go around a car, and back into the number one lane...i do a u turn and signal...blah blah blah.." WHAT!! i did no such thing. I am not an asshole driver. I was in the left lane the entire time and forgot that right there it turns into a left turn only lane, so i turned my blinker on and tried to merge...but cars were flying up to the red light so i ended up in the keep clear zone. That's what happened, and I told her i didnt know there was one there. They dont have those where i'm from...
She gave me a reduced fine. She took 85 bucks off so now all i have to pay is 80 dollars by april 20.
Wasn't that worth all the fuss??

i totally think it was worth it...even though you wasted half a day, i would've done the same thing. and yes neil, the government is totally out to get you. but $80 is alot cheaper than $165. I wish i was smart enough to fight my tickets...
